Campus Party Mx 09

Campus Party MX was what everyone expected. 5 days of non stopping innovating and technology related events gathered in one place. More than 3,500 people attended to this unique event in Mexico city.

But why is Campus Party so important to Mexico? Why is worth mention it?

As we all know Mexico is a rapidly technological developing country, there are people working on different areas such as health, engineering, nano-technology robotics, aerospace, web and mobile development, etc., and many schools specialized on this study areas.

There are many countries with highly developed technology that invest on this kind of projects. They have a big advantage over Mexico. This advantage is achieved thanks to the support giving by the government and companies that help accomplish these innovating projects.

Here in Mexico we have not been very accurate on supporting young innovators. From my point of view, this is do to the lack of support on technology programs and the difficulty of doing a project of such a nature, basically money issues. Government and enterprises should be supporting schools, students and scientist that are working in technology related projects. Some will say that we are already supporting these programs, but the question is, are we giving enough support? Are we doing it right?

Events like Campus Party serve to promote this programs and activities. Many young people from different careers and industries, go with the idea of not just learning and sharing knowledge, but also with the hope of finding someone who puts attention to what they are doing and maybe somebody to sponsor them. Said it in another way, Campus Party is the perfect place to find innovating projects, either in progress or to be developed, projects which most of them are made by people with very limited budget but with an unlimited creativity and innovating ideas.

This is the reason Campus Party is so important. Because people see it as an opportunity to show the world what they are doing, what they are working on, what they are creating. That's why this type of events need to be promoted and supported, we have to invite others to join the party, a technological party that needs both inventors and sponsors.

I think is time to improve the support given to those people who are creating and working on technology made in our country, and that is intended to make the world a better place or simply to make our lives better. There is a lot of potential, let's not waste it.

I'm really looking forward for Campus Party MX 2010. I hope there will be more people participating, as well as more companies and the government involved, because for sure, there will be a lot of interesting projects to invest on. So let's spread out the word!
