Keep talking

The most important technology event of the year here in Mexico City is just happening now: Campus Party Mexico.

It is a global technology and innovation event where people get together during four days to learn, share, meet, teach, download, upload, create, listen, interact, network, play, have fun, and a lot more.

The inauguration begun yesterday at 10pm with a very moving video message of the physicist Stephen Hawking (see picture). He talked about the way humans had evolved thanks to language. And said that talking is what makes us humans, what makes us create and evolve. Every time we didn't talk, we had problems; as illustrations he made allusions to wars throughout the human history. So he encouraged us to keep talking and keep creating, not to destroy what we have built along our existence.

After Stephen Hawking's message it was time to present all the main organizers, including the father of the WWW, Tim Berners Lee (see picture), who welcomed all the campers and invited them to his conference about the present and future of Internet.

Finally the 10 second count down was made by all attending people and followed by big cheers, then every camper took his place to start enjoying the 10 Gb broadband.

Campus Party MX is held at Expo Bancomer, powered by Movistar and will take place from Thursday the 12th to Monday the 16th.
